If you have not already heard, Porte Development has announced a second project for the SFU UniverCity area atop Burnaby Mountain. Lift is scheduled to go on pre-sale sometime this fall and will be located on University High Street at the corner of University Crescent.
Lift will be a wood frame building comprising of 56 homes. Building technologies, environmental features, and price points should be similar to Origin. However, Kristie Marsden, Sales Manager for Porte Development has advised that finishings will be a little different compared to Origin. A mix of marble and granite will used along with high end appliances, creating a more modern look and finish.
Of the 56 homes on offer there will an excellent mix of plans including flats and two level town homes. Layouts will include 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom & den, 2 bedroom, 2 bedroom & den & 3 bedroom configurations. Lift will also offer unique features such as garden homes, sky homes with rooftop decks and garden homes with large patios. I am especially interested to see the rooftop decks! Lift is situated on a down ward slope however, given its location there is very little area for future development so the roof top decks should offer some amazing views.
The slope is a unique element to Lift. Porte has used this to their advantage and will be developing a building that flows along the slope creating three sections to Lift; but all adjoined. At this time my information is limited on this design element, but I will surely update this section once I learn more.
Pricing and other specific details have not yet been released. Please check back here from time to time to learn more about this exciting new project.
About Porte
Since 1968, Porte has been serious about housing— all kinds. We develop, build and manage it, using the Porte Promises as our guide. For us, it is a labour of love that carries a great amount of responsibility.
With this in mind, an integral part of our business is our philanthropic work; long after foundations are poured, we continue to give back to the communities we create.
In our four decades of experience, we’ve covered a significant portion of Lower Mainland, and this body of work falls under two categories:
Porte Realty Ltd.
This is the management side of our business. In 1968, it began as a real estate brokerage firm, and has now grown to include over 1,000 rental apartments and 750,000 square feet of office, retail and industrial space.
Despite our large number of tenants, we make it a priority to provide prompt, personalized service to each and every one of our clients, with support from carefully selected and caring team members.
Porte Development Corp.
This is the inventive side of Porte, the facet of our business that has allowed us to build over 1,500 homes from Vancouver to White Rock.
It is a great privilege to craft communities from the ground up, and it is with this knowledge that we make sure no detail is overlooked. As part of our Porte Promises, “if we haven’t delivered to our exacting standards, we go back and ‘get it right’”.
