Kidney Foundation of Canada thanks Hafez Panju

Failure is not an option…….”

For Hafez Panju this adage has a particular meaning. He understands that kidney patients face failure every day and he is committed to helping make a difference in the lives of persons living with kidney disease.  Since 2005 Hafez has been a generous supporter of The Kidney Foundation of Canada donating a percentage of his sales commissions to the BC Branch.  2011 was no exception as Hafez generously donated over $1,700 to help support lifesaving programs for kidney patients in BC bringing his combined total of contributions to over $5,200!  I guess you could say that Hafez puts his “commitment where his cause is.”

Unfortunately the number of Canadians living with kidney disease has tripled over the last 20 years and in fact, each day an average of 15 Canadians learn they have kidney failure.  Here in British Columbia, thousands of persons have or are at risk of developing kidney disease but aren’t aware of it because a person can lose over 80% of their kidney function without experiencing any symptoms. We simply can’t afford this kind of failure which is why the Kidney Foundation is committed to providing lifesaving support programs for persons living with kidney disease and has invested over $100 million dollars in life-changing research.  The caring commitment of individuals such as Hafez enables the Kidney Foundation of Canada to continue its mission of reducing the burden of kidney disease and raising awareness about the need for organ donation registration.  For your on-going support Hafez, we are truly grateful.

On behalf of the BC Branch of The Kidney Foundation, kidney patients and their families I would like to sincerely thank Hafez Panju and Hafez Realty for their amazing support and contributions over the years.  With the New Year upon us we look forward to continuing our association in 2012.  Together, failure will no longer be an option.

With sincere appreciation

Barbara Valentine
