During this year of unprecedented uncertainty, the Kidney Foundation, BC & Yukon branch was very pleased to have had the generous and continued support from Hafez Panju again in 2020. Since 2008, Hafez continues to contribute a percentage of his sales commission very generously to the BC Branch, bringing his total contribution to over $28,592.
Kidney disease is a serious disease with no cure. 1 in 10 Canadians has the disease. Kidney disease has grown at an alarming rate of 60% over the last 10 years - primarily due to risk factors that have also been on the rise: diabetes and heart disease.
Coupled with the fact that certain ethnic groups are at risk – Indigenous people (1 in 5 have chronic kidney disease) and individuals of South Asian descent – chronic kidney disease has become a crisis in Canada.
It is because of dedicated supporters like Hafez, who make it possible for the Kidney Foundation to provide programs and services that help to ease the physical, emotional, and financial burdens kidney patients and their families while coping with kidney disease.
On behalf of all kidney patients in BC we would like to thank Hafez Panju for his on- going support to bring HOPE to those living with kidney disease in our community, and in all communities throughout BC.
With sincere appreciation,
